I am interested in technology and how it will affect our future. I enjoy the thought process of inventing new concepts but also appreciate a life time is not long enough to implement them all. I find Soft Computing (solutions that cannot be derived in polynomial time) very interesting and enjoy developing methods to mimic existing human methodology. For example, programming of how humans recognise an image/object.

I believe we will have an experiential technology leap once “a system/computer is able to design another computer which is a very small improvement on its own design”

“Many systems are demanding improvement and many systems can be improved (In a cost effective manner today) ”

  • Modelling our road networks on existing internet system models. E.g. Traffic lights as switches, roundabouts as hubs, hills as resistance

  • Vehicles Telemetry -  Currently my employers have over 1500 vehicles telemetric tracking devices on the road with real-time variable values being returned, including GPS atmospheric error, windscreen wiper speed which indicates live rain fail.
  •  RFID - We have designed a small RFID reader that is powered of a 12volt supply. This reader has a 300 metre range when using the appropriate tags. This device has gone into the production stage.
  • Image recognition - applications for autonomous systems
  • Software application - programming autopoietic intelligent decision making systems.
  • Jogging - Next year :)
